I used a combination of traditional tie dye techniques, along with wetting the cloth, holding it in a tight bundle then squeezing the broad tip pen on the top. After the coloring was put on, I then poured water over the deeper coloring.

I drew the fish on and then set the ink. After it was set, I then added the color to the fish to prevent bleeding of the black into the lighter color of the fish.

This was created for the Japanese holiday called the Obon Festival, which is celebrated every July to honor ancestors and friends that have passed.
